Meyer-Optik 400mm f5.5

This is one huge lens with a pre-set type aperture. The mount is M42 but the rear can be easily screwed off and replaced with a different mount. In fact, the rear element is very deeply recessed that in order to clean the rear elements, you need to remove the back to clean it.

On the right side of the 400mm is the Pentacon 50mm f1.8 MC, for size comparisons.

Thanks for the tips. I did unscrew the back to clean the back elements, but haven't the need to do the same for the front. I noticed that the glass is very easily scratched so care needs to be taken to ensure you don't scratch the lens.

If your not aware...the front barrel unscrews from the rear barrel quite easily...then the rear element is accessible to be unscrewed... the front lens screws off easily as well...giving you access to the aperture blades for inspection or cleaning.
