Thanks for the informative test. As I see it, build quality aside, the main benefit to the 1.4 is that one can be sharp @ 2.0 vs. 2.8 w/ the 2.0... However, those rings in the blown out lights are a bit odd to say the least. Distracting is another word that comes to mind. Have you asked Canon about them? I'd be curious as tho their explanation.
