Day 136 - Cat's Eye
I didn't plan for this to happen, but this became a bit of a Self Portrait after applying one of the BW Presets in LR. The kids got this dwarf hamster yesterday, it's in a cage in our play room. Our cat has decided she really likes our play room, a lot, now.
Day 135 - Found a Trail
About a mile shy of the tag, I noticed this trail that shot off the road to the left, turns out it led to a pond that was a few hundred more feet down the road. I didn't make it to the pond on the trail, though I could see it. At this point, I've turned around and have already backtracked a bit. I'd just gone up the slight rocky embankment behind the bike, dragging the centerstand in the process. There was some mud back there too. This was a trail more suited for a DR650, though I couldn't convince my wife of my dire need for another bike ;-)
Day 134 - Plugs
I'm not sure why I kept my old plugs, they were found sitting in one of my drawers in my roll away. They do make for an interesting photo though. I pushed the Fill Light and in the process may have lost a little zip on the high end (Its looking a tad washed out). Interesting that I didn't think there was much carbon buildup on the plugs when I removed them, here through a Macro lens, there's a bit more than I'd thought.
Day 133 - New Tag Location
I set out this morning a little later than I'd wanted or expected. My original plan was to travel much further North and set the tag at another eating establishment, however, this one will have to do. My wife & I used to eat here in the summer, before the kids, which was a million years ago. They have great food and great Ice Cream. Of course, they aren't open this early in the morning, so I had the run of the place.
Day 132 - Dirt
Not my first dirt of the year, but my first shot on dirt of the year. Out on Plum Island in Mass.
After another review, I've decided to promote this photo to today's PaD over my previous choice. This one really sums up today's experience.
I set out this evening a little late, heading for the Northern New England Tag. I'd not done my homework as the tag wasn't out on the stretch of road I thought it was, it was actually on the other side of the river to the camera left. I was able to log about 11 miles of dirt though. Ten miles of which were along this stretch of road on Plum Island. I'd never been here before, I will most likely be back with my wife & we can walk around and enjoy it. This is in the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, Plum Island. I wanted Nelson Island.
Day 131 - Just Let Me In Please
My dog Fox, I unhooked him to let him in this evening and left him 'trapped' in the garage while I was shooting something on the bike. He waited patiently by the door to get let in. I took advantage of his 'trapped' situation and snapped a few photos. The door he wants so badly to get through is to the camera's right.
Day 130 - K-Cups
I think my wife stacked these up on the kitchen counter to take into work tomorow. Made for an interesting shot (or at least it appeared to be interesting at the time).
Day 129 - In a sea
I actually walked outside of the house today and found something to shoot. I was going for these flowers that have taken over a rocky edge of our lawn. I didn't notice the ghostly image of a shriveled flower slightly below and to the right of the main subject in the center. It is kind of an eerie life/death thing.
Day 128 - Convex
I always second guess myself on Convex and Concave, though my first thoughts are usually correct. I'm shooting this into a tiny Convex mirror that I have on my bike, it sits inside my side mirror(s). When I was first out there looking for something to shoot, this idea hit me, though I had to first clean the glass.
Day 127 - Crutch
These are the tops of my crutches that were resting against our bannister. The rubber cushions are in dire need of replacement. I love the DOF on the left cushion, that small band in focus.
Day 126 - Screwed
Amazing what you can find when you need a photo for the day. I think this is the back side of a coat rack that fell off. I have to go check again as I've wondered what happened to that rack.
Day 125 - Dimples
There was a golf ball on our kitchen table this evening. Made for a good last minute photo. I am pretty tired from last night's game.
