On Inner Farne the arctic terns breed. During this season they are quite aggressive.
To go around the island you have to pass them and you have to protect your head carefully. I've seen some people with bleeding wounds.

This behaviour is not really strange if you think that people pass at sometimes only 20 cm from their nests and ofcourse we can crush or hurt them easily. It's actually really brave from these little birds to defend their nest!
