noctilucent

a rare sighting of noctilucent clouds, shining in the night about 1 1/2 hours after sunset...conditions have to be just right during astronomical twilight, and usually farther north than here..aeronomists think the clouds consist of ice crystals caused by water vapour clinging to meteor dust, and shine thanks to the light of the sun when it is at least 6 degrees below the horizon
