peeking

Golden Valley, N. Dakota

rural population has long been in decline in the state, so many towns have old businesses no longer in operation....the most recent census in Golden Valley, in 2010, listed only 182 residents

peeking through the window is travel companion Glenn Dean

Not even a single oil stain on the paving. The place is like a well-kept museum. An excellent capture.

Look how clean it looks there! I have't seen a Standard sign like that in a long time. Those pumps look pretty old too. A fine photo with a lot to take in.

Despite the age of its gas pumps, it looks clean and tidy and like it is sill in operation. ~BV~

The slightly dark tone adds to the impression of a declining rural town."V"

Fine capture of this old service station, although the fire truck would indicate it's getting some use. The person looking in the window is a great addition.
