Cape Mudge

Quadra Island

there is a lot of marine traffic along the coast, the sailors doubtless grateful for the lighthouses that aid safe passage through often stormy conditions and treacherous waters

a wooden lighthouse was first established at Cape Mudge in 1898, the first Fresnel lens added in 1908, and the current concrete tower was erected in 1916...the name of the southern tip of Quadra Island stems from Captain George Vancouver, who christened it in honour of his first lieutenant, Zachary Mudge, in July 1792

A very pristine and well cared for look and a very peaceful ambiance too. Seems a fine place to write that great novel or just get away from it all. "V"
