drought

Dillon, Colorado

nestled among mountains at 9,017 ft (2748m), the Dillon Reservoir normally receives plenty of precipitation..however the unusually prolonged period of hot, dry weather this year resulted in drought conditons, and clearly water levels are down...the reservoir is an important source of water for the city of Denver

the vantage point here is from a pulloff named The Summit on Interstate 70 west of Denver

It's arguable as to what will run out first, oil or fresh water.

It hardly seems to have stopped raining all year here. I'd love to be able to direct some to Denver.

A truly spectacular shot, but a sobering one too. We also had a drought though not of this magnitude I think. So much beauty amidst what could prove to a serious issue. V
