scurrying

Canyonlands NP, Island in the Sky district, Utah

there was a lot of scurrying wildlife at various locations in the southwest...startled rabbits, skittish chipmunks, and these common side-blotched lizards (uta stansburiana)...they were hard to capture, but this one stopped long enough for a revealing pose

He really was amazingly patient with our photographic efforts. Great close up of him, contrasting his color and texture with that of his native environment. ~BV~

He also does blend with his surroundings too. He doesn't look too big so I guess I would be alright around them.
T-Rex size would be a bit hard to handle.

One of the things I enjoy about the southwest is the chance to see lizards, something we don't have around here. Terrific shot of this little guy on his red perch. V
