many perils plague the ponderosa pines on Lily Mountain...some have been reduced to barren, agonized skeletons by wildfires, and yet others, like the brown one behind, are under fatal attack by pine beetles

Now things are truly dangerous. You've got me on that cliff, no way to escape, a helicopter in the sky? Yes, it is Cary. They are letting down the rope ladder! Fantastic shadow with those gnarled reaching limbs and splintered bark. Love the drama here.
