Tomb stone2.jpg

Port Essington, B.C.

A different tomb stone. It would be interesting to be able to read the inscription.

One wonders whether the death rate had anything to do with this being such an utterly wet and cold environment; that can't be good for human health. This image evokes this combination so very well.

Really fascinating, and excellent shot. It must be Japanese script as they settled in this cannery town according to Wikipedia. V

Nice how you got an overall shot then the two more detailed ones. The sculptural artwork is very pleasing. V

How very interesting! The inscription looks to be Chinese, maybe? Well spotted and beautifully captured, Gill. V.
