While it is generally uncommon to different species of lizard basking in close proximity to one another, in Tasmania, where
basking times are often short and safe basking positions are at a premium, lizards of different species will often congregate
together. The rich brown nearer lizard is a Delicate grass skink (Lampropholis delicata) while the larger lizard with the
regenerating tail is a Metallic skink (Niveoscincus metallicus), abundant in many Tasmanian gardens.
