Male Frillneck, Chlamydosaurus kingii

Kakadu National Park

Frillnecks in Kakadu tend to gravitate towards recently burnt areas (of which there are usually many). This allows them to easily
spot prey moving between pieces of cover such as logs and fallen branches while reducing their chances of being barbecued in a
hot late-season fire. Invasive pasture grasses, such as Gamba grass, are a major threat to Frillnecks in tropical savannah
woodlands.
