Broad-banded Sandswimmer, Eremiascincus richardsonii

Coolatai NSW Australia

Most skink species are active during the day, but the sandswimmers in the genus Eremiascincus are active at night when they pursue
hapless invertebrates with deadly ferocity. During the day these gorgeous (and possibly delicious) skinks shelter in burrows
or loose sand beneath logs or rocks.
