Orb weaver

Coolatai, NSW Australia

These are widespread spiders that often put their webs up at night, then eat them in the morning. They are apparently harmless,
but nonetheless it can be a decidedly disconcerting experience to walk into the web of one of these spiders at night.
Similar species are found all over the world.
