Central Library, Des Moines IA

The new downtown library opened in April of 2006. One of the features of the park outside the library is a manmade water feature, called a runnel. This miniature river runs for 2 city blocks on the south side of the library.

The kids love to splash in the water, and these 3 were having an especially good time during the grand opening ceremonies. With the blessing of their mother, I gave them $5 for their excellent efforts. It makes me happy to see them so happy.
