The photo was taken from 1st Ave. near the I-235 overpass. The Des Moines River is just a few feet to the East. The bridge is one of the new blue pedestrian bridges over the highway. The golden dome of the Capitol is in the distance.

This is a 1 second time exposure taken with a tripod. I like the way the branches are etched on the bridge arches, and the brilliance of the traffic lights in the distance. The time exposure also adds richness to the blacks and golds of the photograph.

This was taken in February. The tree branches are bare, revealing more of the background. There was just a little snow on the ground, and it was a cold night. Sometimes you experiment and things turn out very nicely.
