Fall 2004 Fred Parsons

Stocker Pond - Could Be Ruined (see below)

Grantham, NH

Our house is on east side of this pond (on the left) so we look out on to Barton Hill on the right.
Very nice reflections in the fall from our deck. We only have about 30 residents on the water's edge of this 90 acre water shed - and only half of them are full time.
Locals fish here often, but is it peaceful. HOWEVER, there is an interstate that runs the length of the pond above up on the East side and salt from the highway washes down threatening the life of the pond. We are trying to work with the state to reduce this problem - but it is a battle and has us worried.

What a powerful reminder of how precious and fragile these special places are.

Lovely image Fred. Keep fighting the good fight. It's more than worth it.

Hi Fred
looks like you live in a fantastic area for photography, waking up to that view everyday would inspire me to get up early everyday to go out and take some pictures.
There's a nice feeling of tranquility, and a lovely quality of light. The rising mist also helps to balance the photo, nice one.

It's worrying how much damage to nature that human beings are doing each day, particularly in China. Thanks for the beautiful image and some thoughts.
