A private spot in Pennsylvania

Have you had this happen to you? You have your camera set up, line up a shot of a great scene in front of you, and someone comes by and says: "What are you doing?" ...... You steel yourself and say: "Ah, I'm taking a picture?" Then they say either: "Why?" or "Of What?"...... This time, however, the land owner's adult son came by in his truck and told me "You do not have permission" and "You are also trespassing!". I had parked ten yards in and off to the side of a very long dirt driveway to the farm. There was no shoulder to park on the paved road. Well after polite & lengthy apologies on my part, I was told I could go ahead. But, I was sternly warned there were other farmers in the area who would likely get aggressively upset with me on the edge of their land. A half hour later it dawned on me. Maybe that would be because they would not like pictures taken of what they were growing ..... I guess I need to get in touch with the real world.
