Giant Sequoia National Monument

This hidden treasure is located in the Southern Sierra Mountains, East of Porterville, California and North of Kernville. It became a National Monument under President Wm. Clinton. It is the southern most location where you can find the Giant Sequoia Trees. With smaller groves existing in and around this main grove called "Walk of the Giants", all are well worth visiting. Campgrounds abound but primitive with additional lodging in Kernville, Johnstondale or Porterville. The Western border of this monument lies next to the Tule (Two-lee) River, near the Tule Indian Reservation.
