The chase was on and this merganser was not willing to share its catch with any other ducks. It finally succeeded in out manoeuvring its pursers and enjoyed its meal in one big gulp. Common Merganser facts: These ducks feed on insects, small fish, and aquatic plants. They forage by diving from the surface and chasing down their prey underwater; their hooked upper mandible has serrations designed to catch slippery fish.
