The international space station flies Kent, Ohio shortly before 5 am eastern time on May 30, 2011. The shuttle had just disconnected from the station and both were flying in tandem. It was taken with a Nikon D300, a Sigma 500mm f/4.5 lens with a 1.4x teleconverter, hand-held. Exposure was 1/1000 of a sec. at f/6.3. This is a greatly magnified crop of the original frame, which can be seen in previous images on this site.
