M-3, A combination of four images of 8 minutes each, taken at Harrington Beach State Park on Saturday, June 13, 2009. I used a Nikon D300, a Sigma 500mm f/4.5 lens and a 2x teleconverter. The bright globular cluster is in the constellation Canes Venatici, and contains about half a million stars. It is estimated to be about 30,000 light years away.
