Click on the rectangle representing the background color in the Toolbox; using the Picker tool (the
eyedropper to the right in the box that pops up), select the light pollution rectangle as the
background color. Click anywhere in the white space around the light pollution box. This 'anchors'
the box in position and allows you to perform operations on the entire layer instead of just the box.
