My name is Thomas Rey and am a direct descendant of Familie Rey von Fahrwangen that were Untervogts and ushers of the court of the Herren von Hallwyl. The family were also untervogts von Fahrwangen. In the 14th century it was spelled Reig and by the mid 15th century changed to Rey. My family came to America in 1850. I now live in San Diego, California.

I am a 7th generation cousin to the family that owned Hallwyl Castle in the 1670s. I have the Sandmeyer family tree daing back to 1533 that I just shared with the von Hallwyl family. The castle is now owned by the Canton and is a museum.
