Outside Morgantown in the area of Cooper's Rock is a wonderful walk in the woods. The trail moves along the sweet banjo sounds of a mountain creek. Standing tall and ancient are old growth Hemlock trees alive with all their bounty and glory. I'm intrigued by the Japanese Sumi painters. When creating this piece I worked with the immediacy of the the brush while taking in the timelessness of the place
Hemlock Trail
I’m thinking of a friendly place,
A place that’s nice to go
Quite often there is a Friendly face
Out along the old growth.
We can go for a walk To escape
It’s inviting wood, ya know
The trail that creeps along
The hemlock trees- Let’s go
