....15 June 2008 was the 50th day after Easter and the Orthodox Church in Russia celebrates the feastday of Pentecost, or, more informally, Trinity Sunday. Pentecost commemorates when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles on the 50th day after the resurrection of Christ and in Russia is thought of as the birthday of the Church. As well as people going to church it is also celebrated outside. In this instance, in Yasnaya Polyana, the estate of Leo Tolstoy, there were a number of different musicians who entertained us with traditional Russian folk music. [If anyone can tell me the names of the musicians this would be greatly appreciated.]
