The two larger square plates are 1/4 inch birch plywood,
scraps from an earlier project. The pinhole plate is aluminum
soda can sidewall. A 0.18 inch (0.46 mm) diameter pinhole was
created by the dimple-and-sand method, with a black magic marker
used to darken the metal (probably not an optimum approach).
