In this image I placed the flash on the floor below and in front of the balloon. The light was raking over the balloon from the bottom. I had to brighten the image quite a bit in post, and dodged the top to allow for the fact that it didn't get much light.

I was hoping for more texture to the cornstarch from the raking angle of the light.
