IC 883

IC 883 (ARP 193) is a rarely imaged peculiar irregular starburst galaxy in Coma Berenices. It is a mere 1.4’ x 0.7’ in angular size at mag 13.8. It is at a distance of 321 Mly. It’s tidal tails indicate a merger of two galaxies. There are numerous tiny background galaxies in this field, of which my skies and aperture do not do justice.
