Prairies

Only a small percentage of this once sprawling and magnificent ecosystem remains. Unfortunately it took a long time to recognize its significance and beauty and to save the small remnants that were untouched and restore some of those which had been severly degraded. It lends itself to close-ups of insects and birds and to intimate landscapes. It is a gem to photograph because of the continuous bloom of new flowers from spring to fall.
