This mosque was built in 1572 by Uftade Mehmed Muhyiddin, one of the sheiks of the religious Celveti Order. After it was damaged by an earthquake in 1855 it was torn down and rebuilt on todays groundplan. The main prayer hall is rectangular, covered with a lead-plated dome, sitting on four columns.

I add somew pictures of the immediate surroundings and of a mausoleum with the remains of Uftade, members of his family and some unknown people. Uftade (1490-1580) was a famous mystic, writer and people’s poet from Bursa. He is both the founder an sheikh of the Celveti order.
