1930s - Seminole Indian hunters at the Musa Isle Indian Village
Musa Isle Indian Village, Miami, Florida
The Musa Isle Indian Village was a longtime tourist attraction in Miami. It was on the south bank of the Miami River just east of the NW 27 Avenue bridge.
I remember my Father taking me on a boat up river and watching aligator wrestling. I must have been 6 or seven. It was one of our great father daughter outings we took those days. We always did great things that I remember on Sundays. He worked long hours during the week and I didn't get to see him much thru the week. We went to the Miami Orioles baseball games with box seats behind first base. What was the name of that stadium before it became Bobby Maduro Field?

The 27th. Ave Bridge across the river was flat Like a Railroad Bridge and the
Bridge tender Had to go onto the bridge and Manually Open it Seems it was a Bar which had to be inserted in the center and then Tender had to push it around for the Bridge to openfor boats to pass,
only a few feet off the river.
Incidently only a few blocks away on 17 st.
Walt Disney opened His first or early studio "Drawing "Mickey Mouse"

I hope it is remembered that the late Mike Oceola was a Stingaree football team player. Great fellow! I think he was on the team in 1939 or 40. ( My memory isn't what it was then!)
