Miami Municipal Airport was located on the east side of LeJeune Road and between the equivalent of NW 110th and 119th Streets. The airport was renamed to Amelia Earhart Field in honor of her taking off from there on her ill-fated around the world flight where she disappeared in the South Pacific. The City of Hialeah Police Headquarters occupies the old site, along with scads of warehouses.
