I've read many novels of the great Mulch Wars, of fortunes won and lost in the environs of New Orleans over this seasonal need for the gardeners of the world. It is a pity that now, the seas that used to teem with the flapping of the sails of clipper ships, drone with diesel engines and even hum with cigarette boats illegally bringing mulch into the country have all but vanished.
