Next time I will choose a better-colored model! It helped that Ricky knows "Stay" very well.
1. Put the camera on a tripod and focused on the general area I wanted to be in focus. Turned off the autofocus. Used manual settings and +2/3 exposure compensation and Ricky was still too dark. Flash was out of the question. The shadows would have been bezerk and all over the place.
2. Opened the first image in Photoshop and then the second. Selected all of the second and pasted it over the first. Added a layer mask on the pasted image and then painted with a soft black brush of bring through the detail from the first. Merged the layer down.
3. Continued in this manner opening up one image at a time, copying and pasting it, adding a layer mask and painting through the detail below, until all layers were added.
4. Flattened the image (I could have added a new layer and merged all the layers onto that. Adjusted the exposure so there would be more detail in the Ricky's but it wasn't there. I had used jpgs. Didn't want to bother with raws, but I have them. Ooops! Forgot the reflections in the glass. My BAD!
