Secret Pool

This is one of the first pictures I took after deciding I wanted to learn to take photography seriously. I was taking a college night class that would explain the use of your camera. Being so excited, I didn't note that the objective of the class was to show and make a slide show presentation. Absolutely terrified of standing up and speaking I almost dropped out. Then I made myself go forward in the comfort that I would be standing behind people and in the dark! We had weekly assignments, and at the time, I knew nothing of tripods, exposure, or for that matter, very little about "making a photograph'.
I was attracted to this busy scene for the impressionistic quality to it. As a slide, it was not terribily successful. Shooting slides however, was the best way to learn in the time of film cameras. It showed correct exposure, and accurate color, something that local labs often failed at.
This scene is gone now and I can't do it over, but the digital darkroom has allowed for salvaging it somewhat.
