I think I've mentioned previously (about 9 or 10 times!) that 1893
Open Championship winner Willie Auchterlonie was a (very) distant relative.
I must have walked by this plaque twenty times or more over the years without
realising it marked the house in St Andrews where he lived.
Incidentally his brother Lawrence Auchterlonie, not the one mentioned here,
won the US Open in 1902 so I'll be claiming him as a relative too!
