Although I pass by Scotland's National Rugby Stadium every time I travel
into Edinburgh, I've only attended one match - against Wales in 1975.
Unfortunately neither my brother or I saw any of it as the ground,
capacity 80,000, was packed with 104,000 spectators.
(Some later estimates gave the attendance as between 111,000 and 120,000)
We spent the entire eighty minutes simply trying to avoid being crushed!
I've watched from the relative safety of my living room ever since!
