Old Time Rock Roll

"Old Time Rock & Roll"
As performed by Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band
A classic song today, it only hit # 28 on the Top 40 charts, back in 1979
Seger recorded this with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section,
a famous group of studio musicians who owned their own recording
studio in Alabama. Other singers they had worked with include
Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon, and ROD STEWART!

Just take those old records off the shelf,
I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself,
Today's music ain't got the same soul,
I like that old time rock and roll.

Don't try and take me to a disco,
You'll never even get me out on the floor,
In ten minutes I'll be late for the door,
I like that old time rock and roll.

Still like that old time rock and roll,
That kind of music just soothes my soul,
I reminisce about the days of old,
With that old time rock and roll.

Won't go and hear 'em play a tango,
I'd rather hear some blues or funky old soul,
There's only one sure way to get me to go,
Start playin' old time rock and roll.

Still like that old time rock and roll,
That kind of music just soothes my soul,
I reminisce about the days of old,
With that old time rock and roll.

Call me a relic call me what you will,
Say I'm old fashioned say I'm over the hill.
Today's music ain't got the same soul,
I like that old time rock and roll.

Still like that old time rock and roll,
That kind of music just soothes my soul,
I reminisce about the days of old,
With that old time rock and roll.

I have four boxes of 45's here that I use as door stops and cats barriers.
Lots of classic stuff in there that one day I'll have to take pictures of and
post.
Even got a couple of SUN platters in there too!

Look at all those Frisbee's!
Wow, a pleasant surprise in that we have a closet
music historian in our midst. More!!!!

One of my all time favorites. I love the song you gave us and the old 45 of The Man in Black is an excellent keepsake! Wow! We are supposed to go Bob soon. Great shot and so nostalgic! V

Great! Not only do I have the song in my head.....I'm stuck also with a young
Tom Cruise in his tighty whiteys from Risky Business.
Anyway, a Sun Records 45 of Johnny Cash has to be somewhat valuable, eh?
Thanks for the memories : )

Best part of most wedding receptions!

Bug looked at the pic and said, "it is a SUN CD!"...I tried
to explain it was a record, but she walked away to watch
High School Musical!

Very cool shot!
Bob Seger is back on the road again with a new cd and concert tour. Great music and show. Hollywood Nights and Night Moves were my favorites.
A 45! Man I feel old!
