Taken 9th April 2015 I initially lazily labelled it adult male O.o.oenanthe as surely 9th April is too early for migrant O.o.leucorhoa or "Greenland" Wheatear to be coming through? The extent of orange on lower breast and undertail was always troubling. Text book all state Greenlands come through in early May, clearly not so! Having looked closer now I have some time I have corrected the identification to an early male of the Greenland subspecies. Another indicator would surely be this boy still has some degree of wear to get through to his summer dress and the other local males at this site had already rid themselves of the brown fringes shown in winter. So for now I've changed its label!
