Ben Franklin Store Coke Machine

Prescott, AZ

This Coke machine was in the Neodesha Ben Franklin store up until 1966. I don't know the date it was installed in the store but the machine was from 1951. In 1966 my dad, Bill Livingston, the Neodesha State Farm agent obtained the coke machine. We were family friends with the store manager and he offered the machine to my dad for free if he would move it. My dad's office was directly across the street so we took a two wheeled dolly over, moved the machine and became proud owners of a 1951 Vendo 81 coke dispenser. Our family continued to use the coke machine as intended up through the 1980's, except that it held Pepsi because that is what my parents preferred. My dad even made friends with the local Pepsi truck driver so he added us to his route and made weekly deliveries of Pepsi, Mt.Dew and Dad's Rootbeer. I took possession of the machine after my dad passed away in 1995 and moved it to Virginia where it resided in our dining room until 2016. Then after retiring in 2016 we moved to where we are today, Prescott, AZ and of course brought the vintage coke machine with us.
