Driving over the upper deck of the Bay Bridge to San Francisco, the lights on the arching suspension cables form bright streaks due to the long exposure.
The longer streaks are from alternating road lights. Thank goodness for auto exposure, auto focus and image stabilization!
Photographer's Note: CAUTION! This was done with a small compact camera. I held it over my head and braced it against the car's visor for support. This explains the blue highlights in the upper half of the image since it was shooting through the tinted windshield. With one hand on the wheel and the other on the camera, I quickly glanced at the camera's LCD to time the shutter's release. The roadway was straight with little traffic. This is probably safer than the numerous drivers I see talking on cell phones in congested city traffic.
