The lighthouse of Nividic is built on a rock island which is the most western place of metropolitan France. Beyond no land in sight before North America. The construction of the lighthouse proved very difficult due to the strength of the currents. Designed to be automated as soon as it was put into service, two concrete towers were built between the lighthouse and the coast to support the electrical cables necessary for its operation as well as a cable car for the transport of maintenance crews.
