Boxley Mill Pond Swans at Sunset
Kind of a reverse horizon line composition, substituting the reflection of the sunlit mountain for the customary composition. Two swans counterpoint one another and feed in the fading sunset light of Boxley Valley. #4856

Christmas Eve Swans, Boxley Mill Pond
This picture is just about a natural sepia tone. Locals had seen swans on the mill pond last year and it appeared they would not return. Today, Christmas eve, we saw them for the first time on the way to shoot elk (of course). I like the understated color and very broad contrast scale. This would make an excellent black and white photo. No better gift than this. #3871

Gaither Mountain Sunset
Nature's gifts are nature's messages. This sky, opposite the setting sun, is no less grand and deeply subtle in coloration. I love this place, each day brings a new gift in its rich and dynamic images. #3667

Boxley Valley Mill Pond on a December Morning, Different POV
Another take on the Boxley Valley mill pond. It is a complex subject open to many different angles and interpretations. This one brings the old rusty barn into closer view. #2699

Boxley Valley Mill Pond on a December Morning
Another shot from paradise. There is a bald eagle visiting this mill pond, but I have not caught him yet. Stay tuned. #2698

Rocks on the Buffalo River
Rocks along the Buffalo River on a cloudy morning. The water was aquamarine in color. Taken while I was stalking elk. #2280
