Giant Desert Centipede

Texas Canyon, Dragoon, AZ

OK, this one is really creepy! I saw it on the dirt entrance road to the museum as I was going to
work. I stopped the car, jumped out and started shooting! I could not believe the size of this
monster...at least six inches, maybe eight! Couldn't get a sharper picture because it kept coming
toward me and I kept backing up. When it went under my car, I quickly got in and drove away (didn't run it over).

Creepy is right, Carol. I can put up with just about any creature in the desert except for these nasty things. Great capture.

Super captures! It has wonderful colors and I can't imagine centipedes that large. Carol, when you go to work it is like being on safari! Vote!

Hi Carol,
I'll bet he wondered what happened to his shade. LOL These are excellent and interesting shots. \/

One of my least favorite desert dwellers! I think they are more typically creatures of the night and you got an admirable shot of him in the bright sunshine.

Besides the softness at the rear end, the first one is a great shot. Excellent light and tectures, VOTE!

Well done !!
One with a sharp rear-end (with damage) and one with sharp front !!
The first one has great colors too.....
