The Taste of Your Absence

It comes like summer thunder and takes
me unaware. Most days I fend it off,
remembering happy times and making plans.
But then, on my way to meet a friend,
I may drive by the place we met or where
we said goodbye and my resolution crumbles.
A salt I do not savor makes its presence
known—something deep inside I cannot purge—
the taste of life without you.

This is so beautiful! There is so much on this page. So many photos and poems...I will come back after. The photos and poems marry so well together. I love it.

The combination of wonderful photos and this poetry is pure magic. It should be put in a book.

This is beautiful. It reminds me of a friend I lost to suicide back in 2011. Thank you for sharing your poetry.
