No, you are right...this was part of an exhibition of pulley's and gearing in the 1900's....it is hard for me to believe that it has been since 2005 I've been in Brazil....but the internet drove out business one of my largest travel agent clients who was big in Brazil...(When was the last time you called a travel agent?!?).
In any case I see all these very dangerous robbery video's on LiveLeak out of Brazil...and I truly worry about ever returning...(I'm not the brightest bulb and no longer as quick on my feet as I would like...nonetheless I'll soon be in Mexico, and Las Vegas April 1 & 2, because...I got to...I guess, slow though I be).
This must no longer be in service otherwise it would be coated in heavy grease like the ones you see on ski lifts rather than painted, spiffy and pretty looking. Paul
