Surgical Blues

Colyn was hit by a van Sept 08. His leg was shattered from the knee down. After two surgeries, we finally got the hardware out today. Another six weeks of crutches, but hopefully we are done. Anyway, this has been my corner of the world, as I hopefully expressed in this somewhat candid shot.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Surgery went fine... just much pain with 3 holes around the knee where the rod came out. We had trouble with bone growth, but the second bone graft and sonic bone stimulator fixed that! Yes, thank goodness we were able to save the leg!!! Apart from a very minor head injury, Colyn is now a 4.0 student and doing well. We are very thankful to God for looking over him. jano

The powers we have to regenerate and go on regardless are...just amazing. I wish him well and we may all be please that he is young...and so will in general heal better.

Best Wishes to Colyn,

Let us also be thankful and realize that a hundred years ago, Colyn would have utterly and completely lost his leg...small blessings maybe, but blessings nonetheless.
