Mike Hailwood's Honda RC181, from the 1966-1967 TT era. This appears to be the 1966 bike, since Honda went from reverse cone to cone exhaust for 1967 (I think?). 500cc, 4-cylinder air-cooled, 4-valve DOHC, 332lbs, 85-90hp at 12,000 rpm, six-speed gearbox, and 160+mph top speed. This bike shows the rider position difference between the older style of sitting and staying over the rear wheel, without much leaning into the turn, opposed to the modern style of sliding forward and down into the turn. In those days before disc brakes, riders had to be aware of both tire wear and drum-brake shoe wear. Choosing the wrong brake shoe material, or over-using your brakes early in the race could ruin your day in a hurry.
